MissFresh is a Canadian subscription box that delivers fresh ingredients and unique recipes delivered weekly to your door. They strive to help people lead a healthier lifestyle by making eating healthy at home easy and accessible to everyone. You can manage your deliveries up to 6 weeks in advance on your account and “skip” the weeks for which you don’t want to receive any boxes.
Cost: Starts at $7.49/portion
Shipping: Free - Canada only
The Meal Kits to choose from are: Vegetarian Box, Chef Box, Custom Box, and Kilo Solution Box. To understand better how the meal plans and prices, check out more HERE.
Boxes are insulated and contain ice packs, so the ingredients can stay up to 40 hours in the box without a problem. Even if you're not at home, the delivery person will leave your box where you want it, according to your delivery preferences.
The meat is underneath and kept cool with ice packs.
All recipes are ready within a maximum of 30 minutes. Meats are fresh and vacuum sealed which prolongs their freshness. Fish is also purchased fresh when available, otherwise, flash frozen. Since no items have been previously frozen, you can freeze anything you wish to cook at a later time.
These are the 2 meals we received last week:
Philly Cheese Steak with Creamy Boston Lettuce
Indulge in this Philadelphia delicacy served with a creamy Boston salad... your tummy will go "yummy"!
I've never made Philly Cheese Steaks at home so I gave this recipe a go. The cheese steaks turned out better than I expected and the salad that goes with it was very simple but the dressing gave it life. It was very easy to prepare and my boys enjoyed it. I'd make this again.
BBQ Chicken Thighs with Smoked Potato Salad and Slaw
Kids and adults alike will fall head over heels for the crispy textures of the chicken thighs and creamy consistency of the slaw salad... you've been warned!
This felt like more of a complete meal with the 2 side dishes. The chicken had some had some spice brought on from the sriracha sauce but it wasn't too hot. The potato salad was very good and the cabbage mix slaw was a nice addition.
MissFresh is a good meal prep subscription box. It's not my personal favourite out of the ones available in Canada but what does separate them from the others is that they ship to almost anywhere in Canada. They also offer snack boxes and a beverage box (selection of specialty tea and coffee). If you're interested in trying them, you have until tomorrow to save $35 off your first box, after that you will save $30!
