Bestowed Review – March 2013

Bestowed Box March 2013

I received my first box from Bestowed yesterday. With Bestowed you will discover healthy foods you'll love! You will get 5+ amazing nutrition and lifestyle products delivered to your door every month - each one hand picked by celebrity nutritionist and author Heather Bauer. I wasn't sure what to expect, so I just let the box speak for itself.

Here's what was inside:

Bestowed Box March 2013

~Oloves Hot Chili Mama Olives

Bestowed Box March 2013

These pit free olives are bursting with red hot habanero and lemon, this award-winning snack will have you hooked after the first bite.

I love olives! So these are for Mama. Not sure about the spice, but still eager to try them.

~Nature's Earthly Choice Easy Quinoa Lentil Soup Mix

Bestowed Box March 2013

Nature’s Earthly Choice’s goal is to not only give you a fantastic tasting product, but to make it simple and hassle free so that making a healthy choice isn’t a hard decision.

I've never had quinoa before or any type soup like this. I'm not sure if I'll like it, but it sounds interesting and it's quick to make. I'm all for fast and healthy meals.

~Happy Family - Happy Squeeze Smoothies

Bestowed Box March 2013

Each convenient on-the-go pouch is packed with vitamins and minerals, and at around 100 calories it is the ideal no-guilt snack. Made from organic ingredients you can feel proud to feed these delicious smoothies to your entire family.

My 17 month old son loves these pouches. These are really convenient and very nutritious. He'll enjoy this I'm sure.

~Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

Bestowed Box March 2013

These tiny seeds pack a big punch! Loaded with protein and vitamins, these little gems are a great way to add essential omegas and protein into your daily diet. We love the mild, nutty flavor (similar to sunflower seeds) and we also love that Manitoba Harvest is vertically integrated, which means they control every aspect of their Hemp Hearts right from seed to shelf!

Something else new to try. They're great to put on salads, cereal, and yogurt. Definitely going to put it in my boys food.

~Artisana Coconut Butter

Bestowed Box March 2013

This creamy butter is made from the flesh of the coconut and contains all the delicious taste and aroma that coconut offers, as well as the fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals.

They suggest using it in a smoothie or as a spread on crackers. Honestly I don't like anything coconut flavour, wish I did cause it's so nutritious. Maybe someone else here will like it.

~Nature's Bakery Fig Bars

Bestowed Box March 2013

In need of energy after a long run, or maybe just from chasing after the kids? These fig bars will be an instant pantry staple that the whole family can enjoy. Packed with all natural ingredients, Nature's Bakery supports health conscious living and active lifestyles. Not only do they taste great, but they are a Kosher certified product, cholesterol-free, dairy-free, AND vegan!

Again something else I don't care for, but I gave them to my son and he loved it! I always feel much better as a mom to give my boys healthier snacks that they actually like, so these passed the test.

Also included was a $25 iTrain Card. The box had an information sheet with all of the products and suggestions for the different foods. No prices were included, but for the price I paid (I had a half off code) I'm not complaining.

Overall I thought the box was alright. It was nice to try something different. This is my first type of box like this and it was a refreshing change to try these new foods.

What did you think of this month's Bestowed box? Let me know.
