Whimsey Box – August Review

Whimsey Box – August Review

I got myself another Whimsey Box this month. Still feeling a little crafty these days. It took awhile to get here, so this review is for the August box. Whimsey Box is the original subscription for DIY and craft lovers. You will receive a new DIY craft project each month with the materials and instructions necessary.

Cost:

$15 / month + $5 shipping fee to Canada
$45 / 3 months
$90 / 6 months
$165 / 12 months (1 month free)

I had no idea what the craft was this month, but when I opened it I was so happy. This is my kind of craft! This month it was the DIY Beaded Wrap Bracelet. I absolutely loved the instruction card it came with. The steps were easy to follow and the bracelet was fun to make!

Some pics of the step by step process.

After you thread the cord through the button hole, tie a knot as close to the button as possible and clip it to the clipboard.

Step-by-Step Process.

Next you thread the needle under the left cord, towards the inside, seperate your threads, and thread the needle between them, backwards towards the outside, making a hitch knot. Dab a tiny dot of glue on the knot to secure.

Step-by-Step Process.

Slide the needle under both cords, slip on a bead and position the bead between the cords, sliding up as close to the knot as possible.

Step-by-Step Process.

Then thread the needle back through the bead (over the top of the cords.) Repeat the process, making sure the thread is taut, holding the bead securely between the cords.

Gettin' there

When you reach the desired length, finish by threading the needle between the last two beads and the through the loop of thread. Thread the needle back through the last bead and add a tiny dab of glue in each side of the last bead. Tie the cords in an overhand knot as close to the beads as possible. Allow about 3/4" of space for the button, then tie another overhand knot to finish. Add a tiny dab of glue to the last knot to secure.

Bam! Done - I did it!

Here’s how it came out. Not too bad if I say so myself!

I really enjoyed doing this craft and what’s great is I have enough supplies that I can make another bracelet, which I am so going to do! I’m so glad I got Whimsey Box this month. I think I will get this box again in the future. Have you subscribed to Whimsey Box? What do you think of this craft subscription box?
