VIBceramics Earth Wax and Fire is a monthly subscription of handmade ceramics created by artisans in Israel. Each month, they pair a unique, collectible, hand-crafted ceramic bowl with a colourful, lightly scented candle. Every combination is unique and suited to the season. There's always something extra included within each box, too. The ceramics are created by VIBceramics Earth Wax and Fire founder, Vered Israel-Bloom. She is a self-taught ceramic artist. As a way to spend more time with her kids and clay, she left her job at Israel's satellite TV provider about 10 years ago to pursue ceramics full time. Her designs, inspired by the Mediterranean Sea, butterflies, flowers and nature in general, have been sold internationally.

This ceramic bowl is hand-made from a special speckled-grey clay and lead-free "tekhelet" blue glaze. It's kiln-fired twice at a high temperature and is dishwasher and microwave safe.
It has many uses - as a candle holder, jewelry holder, holds small office supplies, serve condiments, hold spices, your teabag, or as a soap dish.
Along with the twice-fired dishwasher-safe "stoneware" bowl is a locally made, floating "shoshana" candle, lightly scented with a "touch of musk." The candle has a burn time of about 5 hours and it actually floats. It's made locally in Israel by a boutique fragrance shop called Spring. The main concept of Spring is Aromacology, a combination of two words, Aroma and Psychology defined as "the art and science of using fragrances to affect both mood and senses."
Also included in the box is a handmade “Hamsa,” a Middle Eastern symbol dating back to prehistoric times. The Hamsa is believed to protect against “the evil eye” and foster happiness and prosperity. The name “Hamsa” is from the Semitic root word for five, in reference to the 5 fingers of this hand-shaped amulet.
VIBceramics Earth Wax and Fire are such pretty pieces! I appreciate the craftsmanship in making ceramics and it's something I've actually considered getting into myself.
