ModCloth Stylish Surprise is a sale ModCloth does a few times a year where they offer mystery goodies for $20 and under. It's a mystery what you get and all sales are final. You will know the category of the items you're buying and what size you've chosen but that's it. They usually only have a few categories to choose from but with this recent sale they had added even more categories (dresses, tops, bottoms, shoes, outerwear, swim, etc.) so I couldn't resist and got myself a few things. The Stylish Surprise sells out fast and is now sold out, but if sign up for their newsletter or get the app you'll be notified of the next sale.

This time around I ordered one top, one outwear, and one swimsuit.
BB Dakota Shiri Hooded Blazer
This hooded black blazer has a 2 button front closure with three-quarter shirred sleeves and 2 front slit pockets. The fabric is 100% polyester. It's a smart-looking, well-made blazer but I'm not feeling the hood. It's like business in the front and party in the back. It does fit well and I like the way it looks unbuttoned but I'm not sure if I'll actually wear this. I couldn't find this at ModCloth but different sites had varying prices from $40-$148 and all are sold out.
ModCloth Creative Contribution Sleeveless Top in Maps
This silky sleeveless blouse with buttoned epaulets is nice but the map print is not my style. It fits fine but I didn't think it really did anything for me. I do think it looks better tucked in with pants or a skirt. This top was originally priced at $39.99 then was on sale for $12.97 but it is no longer available. I paid $15 so I didn't really get a discount with this top.
High Dive by ModCloth Need I Say Shore? One-Piece Swimsuit in Bouquets
Now, this is pretty and just what I was hoping for! The best item I received from this Stylish Surprise is this swimsuit. I love the mix of colours with the gorgeous bouquets and coral pink piping to accentuate the look. The bustier-style bust fits great and adds some cleavage with the removable bust cups. The only thing that I'm a little bothered with is the bottom - I wish it had a bit more coverage in that area. This piece is also no longer available but was originally priced at $79.99 and went on sale for $34.99.
I have ordered ModCloth Stylish Surprise many times but have not reviewed them all out of sheer disappointment with what I received. My last order before this one, I had ordered 5 apparel items and two of the items were the same. They do not state that you can expect duplicates with your order so I was not pleased with getting two identical tops which I hated by the way. Regardless of some of my previous bad experiences I still like to take the chance with Stylish Surprise and have received some things that I was very happy with. This time was pretty good despite two of the styles not being for me. And of course, I will jump at the next sale when it comes around.
