ipsy Glam Bag Review – November 2013

image

I think a lot of people are really excited for ipsy this month. Not only were we getting a full size product from Michelle Phan’s new cosmetics line “em”, we were getting 6 products in our Glam Bags! Damn ipsy, I like all this excitement and unexpected surprises - please keep it coming! This is still one of my favourite subscription boxes!

Each month, ipsy subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag filled with 4 to 5 sample or full-sized beauty (makeup, skincare, haircare, and nailcare) goodies that are curated just for you.

Cost: $10 / month - free shipping in the U.S. or $4.95 shipping to Canada

The theme this month is "Glam It Up". I'm not crazy about the makeup bag this month - don’t hate it, don’t love it.

em Lash Gallery Clean Volume Mascara
$20

Give your lashes clean, fresh volume without clumps. Uniquely designed, fluffy brush sweeps on buildable volume for clean, natural lashes. I’m just happy to get a product from em. Since they don’t ship to Canada yet, I didn’t think I get to try products from this line anytime soon.

Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon (Hot Damn)
$14

image

Hot damn is right! This is a bright red colour and I couldn’t love it more! A glossy lip crayon with a smooth texture that is perfect for travel and touch-ups on the go. Wearing red lips with a fresh face and minimal makeup always makes me feel sexy!

Pixi Beauty Bronzer (Subtly Suntouched)
$5

image

This bronzing powder gives your complexion the warmth and luminosity of naturally sunkissed skin. I wasn’t expecting to get a bronzer, but luckily it’s the right shade for me, a medium honey tan. This with my Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon and I'm good to go! This will carry me through the winter months and give me a bit that bit of glow I need.

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil (Topaz)
$14

image

The Starlooks Gem Eye Pencils provide a magnificent metallic finish and are so versatile, soft, and creamy that they can be used as a liner or eyeshadow base! Each highly pigmented, unique pencil has a gorgeous, micro-glitter finish. While I’m sure this is a great product, I haven’t opened it, because I’ll most likely gift it. I just simple have too much eyeliner.

Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer
$13

A gunmetal gray spiked with shimmer. I’m least excited about getting this, but I’m sure it's great for someone else.

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow (Asteroid)

This is a surprise to me. I am happy to say that I do not have a shade of eyeshadow like this in my collection and that’s saying a lot! I rarely get excited to see eyeshadow, but this is definitely different. It’s a duo-chrome shade with teal in it. It goes on in a nice metallic bronzy shade that I’m excited to try!

Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara
$8

I redeemed some of my ipsy points ot get this. This seems to have gotten mixed reviews, but I’m hopeful. It’s Benefit, it can’t be that bad. Plus I've been really wanting to try it since I gave one of these to Jill when we did our beauty swap.

Well ipsy has me completely ready for the holidays. I have some new and different products and I’m very excited to use them! I am very curious to know what others got in their Glam Bag and if you’re happy with what you received. So let me know! There was a lot of variations this month. Now on to my unpaid endorsement LOL -  if you don’t subscribe to ipsy, just do it! It’s worth it! Very few subscription boxes compare as far as value and products. ipsy also offers to discounts to the products included in the Glam Bags, I never use them because most of the companies don’t ship to Canada or the shipping fees are a little too much (booo!), so that’s one of the disadvantages for Canadians.

Were you happy with your Glam Bag this month? What do you think of this subscription box?
