ipsy Glam Bag Review – August 2016

With all the beauty subscriptions out there, ipsy is one that continues to have a large following and remains consistent. The fact that it is super affordable is also a huge plus! As I've said in the past, some months are better than others, but I still look forward to it each month and would recommend them to anyone starting out in the beauty box world.

ipsy is a beauty subscription box that includes 4-5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on individual style, beauty habits, colouring and preferences in a cool, new glam bag each month.

Cost: $10/month (USD)

Shipping: US – Free, Canada – $4.95

Check out all my ipsy reviews.

The bag had two variations this month and was illustrated by ipsy founder, Michelle Phan. I like the one I received. For such an inexpensive subscription I'm impressed with the quality of the makeup bags. They're way better than some of the others that send new bags each month.

NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator (Gleam)

Wow, this is no subtle illuminator! It's an intense highlighter that will give you a mega glow! Use as a foundation base, over cheekbones, décolletage or cupids bow. You should go easy with this, it doesn't take much to over do it, so make sure to BLEND! I love how lightweight it is and this golden peachy pearl shade is gorgeous!

Sally's Box Secret Garden Ampoule Masks

The Olive Oil Mask nourishes skin and helps diminish the look of fine lines and the Camellia Oil Mask gives you a radiant glow. These masks come with an extra serum to use before you mask.

Rodial Smokey Eye Pen (Black)

This highly pigmented eyeliner is perfect for blending and the deep gray-black colour is great for a smoky look.

Organic Surge Perfecting Face Polish

Made of finely ground olive stone, it gently removes dirt, impurities and dead cells to make your skin glow. Rosemary and lemon oils purify your complexion, chamomile and ginkgo biloba soothe and soften, and almond oil adds extra hydration.

Ciaté London Paint Pot (Spinning Teacup)

Ciaté is cult-fave nail polish. There were two different shades sent out. The tapered precision brush allows for easy and more controlled application. This is a pretty lavender shade.

ipsy Glam Bag Review – August 2016

This month's ipsy missed the mark for me. All the products are great, but they sent me eyeliner, nail polish and sheet masks, products I already have plenty of and never want to get in my ipsy bag. Here's what September's ipsy Glam Bag will look like:
