I didn't receive the info card again, but I receive an email with a link to the PDF version. GlobeIn releases spoilers so I already knew what to expect in this box. The box was bigger this month to hold one of the larger items.
The theme of the August GlobeIn Artisan Box is "Laundry". The products in this month’s kit invite you to reconnect with a sense of gratitude at the joy of washing, to think of the laundry as a small, daily ceremony of renewal in harmony with the environment and echoing with the traditions of earth-centered livelihoods around the world.
Palm Leaf Basket (Mexico)
Every month we get these baskets and I never know what to do with them. I do like them and appreciate the work that went into them since they're all hand made. I have a few around the house for decor, but now they're starting to pile up.
Wool Dryer Balls (Kyrgyzstan) & Organic Cotton Bag (India)
$15 & $2.50
These wool dryer balls are to be used in place of dryer sheets for naturally softened, chemical-free laundry. You just place them in the dryer with your laundry to reduce your drying time by up to 25%, soften and fluff fabrics, and reduce static. You can also add a few drops of essential oils for a pleasant scent on your laundry.
Upcycled Laundry Bag (Cambodia)
This bag is huge (22.5 inches wide x 21.5 inches tall)! It can hold a lot of laundry and looks like very good quality! It's made of recycled cement bags and stand up nicely on its own.
Soap Nuts Sampler (Nepal)
Soap nuts are a natural, eco-friendly, chemical-free way to clean your clothes. They release a natural sudsing detergent which behaves the same way as commercial laundry detergent, but without the chemicals. This soap nuts sample contains enough USDA Certified Organic deseeded soap nuts to do 4 to 7 wash loads and includes one drawstring wash bag and a detailed instruction sheet. Also note, that they specify NOT to use these with fabric softeners or dryer sheets as these are a source of allergens and carcinogens. To get out stains you can use a prespotter.
The August GlobeIn Artisan “Laundry” Box has a total value of $56.50. I think this is a good box with some useful products. There's also a list of "Laundry Hacks" that give you helpful tips, like adding a dash of black pepper will prevent colours from bleeding. I love learning stuff like that! I will enjoy using all these products since I actually like doing laundry. This box would also be great for any college/university students too.
