Crafting It Forward is a monthly subscription box that sends a box of organized DIY craft supplies and directions. These crafts are perfect for 3-7 year olds and create precious moments together and a magical home environment. Included in each box is a shipping label to "craft it forward" because once the craft is enjoyed, it's passed on to a children’s hospital or senior center to be enjoyed all over again.
Cost: $19/month + free shipping.
I loved all the coloured tissue paper, it looked like there was going to be some fun stuff in here.
The box has supplies to do 2 crafts - Bug Catcher and Finger Puppets. The card on the right has craft instructions and the other card is to be filled out and included in the box when you send it to someone who needs a smile.
The supplies: container, paint, pipe cleaners, pom poms, feathers, felt, and knitted fabric.
To be honest, I was expecting to see more than this, the supplies seem minimal. I thought maybe some things were missing, but it's enough to make the crafts. We've not had a chance to do them yet, but I do like what this box is all about, the importance of sharing quality time with your little ones and creating something special to give to someone else. Once you're done you pack up the crafts in the box, attach the enclosed shipping label, then mail it. Ours it to be sent to MaxLove Project, a nonprofit organization helping SuperKids thrive against the odds with anticancer nutrition, integrative medicine & essential research. In theory, Crafting It Forward is a great idea, but I don't need to spend over $19 + shipping and then pay more to ship the box elsewhere. I could do something like this for less money and have my children experience the gratitude first-hand by bringing the box to a local organization.
