Whimsy Mail and Putter Pails is a Canadian subscription box just for tweens (ages 8-12). It was created by two best Friends since Grade 5 who’ve raised 6 children between them. They have always enjoyed shopping for unique, fun products and activities for their kids and when they got to the tween stage-it was often a struggle-with products being too young or too old. This is what inspired them to create Whimsy Mail and Putter Pails. They wanted children this age to have something of their very own. Each month is a new theme so that it is a brand new discovery every time!

Whimsy Mail is for girls and Putter Pails is for boys. Both boxes will have the same theme each month and mostly the same products.

This sheet of paper has the details on what's included in the box, but that's not all! It's actually a flower garden! Created in Nepal using a very environmental friendly process, this paper is embedded with 15 annual species that will grow to 3' high. Simply plant this sheet of paper and cover with an 8th of an inch of soil and water until established.
Putter Pizza Garden
Inside this red pouch is a seedling tray with 6 jiffy soil pellets and seeds to plant tomatoes, peppers, basil, and oregano. You're given instructions on how to plant your seeds. This is going to be fun to do with the boys! The material wrapped around the pizza garden can be turned into an apron using just a few items. They give you instructions for this too. This is a great way to show kids how to repurpose items; it saves money and helps keeps things out of landfills!
Use these chalkboard paint sticks as markers to label your pizza garden.
Geocache Tag & Guide to Geocaching
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experience online. This looks like a lot of fun!
They've also included these two sheets for family nature walks and scavenger hunt. This is more age-appropriate for my boys.
Woodland Lights
Inside this jar is everything you need to create your own enchanted forest with this simple craft. They've included a jar, the solar light, some moss and rocks to get you started and from there you can be as creative as you like. These lights are great for campfires, strolls along the beach at night, along garden paths and however else you can think to use.
This is such a great box from Whimsy Mail and Putter Pails! The theme is fantastic and they did a great job including projects that not only teach children more about the environment, but they're fun to do! My boys are a bit young for this box, but they thought everything was really cool and they couldn't wait to get started!
