Kaito Coffee Roasters Kenya Gaturiri

Tasting notes: blackberry, stone fruit, lime

We are very excited to offer you our first Kenyan coffee. This lot was sourced via our new partnership with Collaborative Coffee Source.

The Gaturiri Factory, along with Karatina, Gatomboya and Karindundu factories, is part of the Barichu Cooperative Society in Karatina Town. The Cooperative was registered in October 1996. The factory currently has 467 female and 804 male farmers that contribute their cherries. It also has its own plot of land with 1500 trees. The agronomist for the Cooperative uses it for training farmers. Proceeds from the sale of these cherries help fund the factory’s operations.

Detour Coffee Roasters Holiday Blend

This year's limited edition blend brings together coffees from 3 different farms and 2 different origins in Ethiopia and Guatemala. The Ethiopian coffee is an heirloom varietal from Guji in Yirgacheffe and brings a lot of delicate sweetness and complexity to the blend with beautiful floral aromatics and lots of delicate citrus and fruit. The first Guatemalan coffee is a delightful San Ramon varietal that comes from the La Libertad region in Huehuetenango which brings a silky and clean body to the blend with a bakers chocolate backbone. The final coffee comes to us from members of the Rio Azul Coop in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. The coffee brings richness and depth to the blend and its characteristic spice.

The Roasters Pack Subscription Box Review – January 2019

All of the coffee from The Roasters Pack is freshly roasted for guaranteed freshness. You also get the choice of how you want your coffee: whole bean, coarse, medium, fine, or extra fine. I love my coffee so I'm looking forward to sampling these interesting blends.
