Sweet Latvia is a candy/treats subscription box that sends 1 kg of trendy new as well as old-time favourite sweets in a curated box. The box will contain an interesting mix of sweets ranging from chocolate, gummy, sour and nostalgically classic amongst others. They boast over 200 tastes in their collection sourced from several different Latvian sweets companies.

There was a serious load of chocolate in this box and unless you are Latvian, I doubt you have tried any of this stuff.
Some of the items I tried were very unique like the 1870 Laima Serbets, Oriental Sweets with Peanuts. These were delicious. It was like a cookie with nougat and peanuts, very sweet.
I also enjoyed the hand-made glazed sour cherries. Delicious!
The other Laima product was the Dessert Selection with tiramisu cream, crème brûlée and cheesecake cream chocolates. The candies were OK. The taste was great but a bit stale with the wrapper sticking to the candy.
There were also an assortment of Chocolate bars which were fine.
In general, Sweet Latvia is a good subscription box for its content. There was just under a kilo of chocolate here. I tried to source a lot of the stuff to see if the value is worth $40 Canadian. A lot of the stuff could not be tracked down and when I did it was being sold on ebay. The quality seems good and the shipping is included so I think that may be where a big part of the cost is coming from. I think you really need to like sweets! It is a treat to try something that you cannot buy here in Canada or the US. So after having rushed to try all of this candy for the review, I must have gained a hundred pounds. I better go for a run.
