This is 80’s Box:

Rocky III Exclusive T-Shirt
$10
Another very well made shirt and this time it fits! This is the fight that costs Rocky his trainer and his confidence. This movie gave us “Eye of the Tiger” and running on the beach with short-shorts. Yikes. When I wore this to work, all my colleagues were envious. OK, not ALL of them.

Cylon Centurion Head Coasters
$9 - set of 4
When searching for the fabled thirteenth colony called Earth, you will need to stay hydrated but can’t afford to have condensation short out your controls. Unfortunately, they only protect furniture and not humans. This is an officially licensed Battlestar Galactica collectible made from tin with a non-slip cork backing. They are quite large for a coaster with dimensions of 6.25" x 4.5" each. The quality here is impressive. I lost it when I saw these. Personally one of my favourite shows.

The Love Boat Teeny Tin
Designed to look like the lunch boxes you carried as a kid, this mini carrying case is great for very small pens, erasers, mints, snacks...you name it. It is really small and fits in the palm of your hand. It also comes with a fun fact card that gives you a few details about the show and Aaron Spelling, the shows creator. This is one of those things that I have no idea what I will use it for. The Love Boat was a show I watched and I appreciated the nostalgia. I tried to source this item for a value but I could not find it anywhere.

DC Comics Heros Magnet Set
$9.49
Remember when you and your friends used to pretend you were all Superheroes! You’ll all be together again in spirit with this pack of magnets using art from the Saturday morning cartoon series the Justice League from the 80’s. These are made in the USA and officially licensed. The set includes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and The Flash. They are each about 1” in diameter and come in a clear plastic case. Just like the Villains magnets from the 70’s Retro Pop Box, the magnets are good quality and the images have bright colours and excellent art.

Ziggy Stardust Sticker
$Priceless
This was a bonus and a huge surprise for me. So being a huge Bowie fan I was thrilled to see tribute paid to the recently departed rock icon. There are not many musicians who were not influenced by his career. Rest in Peace.
Joystick Sticker
$1
An homage to Atari! One button and one directional Stick...It truly was simpler times. Let’s never forget that this is all it took to protect ourselves from missiles, aliens and centipedes. This is going up on my office door.

I was born in the 70’s but I grew up in the 80’s. These were the formidable years. High school dances, standing against the wall making fun of all the people dancing, all the while, secretly wishing that girl in your math class would ask you to dance. Ok, enough reminiscing. What about the box? This one I liked. There is still the odd thing in here that I wonder to myself, “What am I going to do with that?”. Maybe I just don’t get the geek box thing. That being said, I love opening these boxes to see if the crew at Retro Pop Box think like I do. This time the Battlestar coasters and the homage to Ziggy Stardust hit the nail on the head; I was ecstatic. The t-shirt was a bonus. I could not believe my luck that it fit. So my conclusion is that if you sign up for an era, you might get a few things once and awhile that make you go WTF but this is part of the fun. The value this time was better, I have seen things in the box that are discontinued and difficult to source. The items are still way under the $45 dollar expected value but this time I feel like I got my $20 worth.
