This is the first box from Pumeli so I had no idea what to expect. Once I opened it, I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the whole box was!

The theme for October's box is "Elephants" which seems kind of random, but Pumeli explains it like this:
Elephants are the perfect role model for slow and mindful living. Their curiosity, creativity, and sense of touch inspire us.
Chances are, you probably go through the day touching many things without really paying attention to the physical sensation. Unlike elephants, which use touch as a primary form of connecting with each other and their environment, humans are touch-deprived. Virtually, we are hyper-connected through flat screens; physically, though, we have numbed our sense of touch.
This month we chose highly tactile items to help bring awareness to your physical being and create mindful moments using the sense of touch.

Hand-Sewn Journal
$24.95
This is such a beautiful journal! I love the softness and there is a metal strip displaying an inspirational quote that says, "Dream as if you'll live forever". The journal wrap, inspired by an elephant trunk, is crafted with fiber from 100% certified recycled plastic bottles. The recycled paper is handmade with elephant dung by Mr. Ellie Pooh! The paper is acid-free and fair-trade that creates sustainable artisan jobs in Sri Lanka while helping to change the perception of elephants in conflict areas.

Foxy & Winston 100% Organic Kitchen Towel
$16
This elephant towel is too cute and I love the grey! It's screen printed with water based non-toxic inks, It's a soft, absorbent cotton canvas suitable for drying dishes and glassware. It measures 18" X 27", I have it folded in half here.

David Rio Elephant Vanilla Chai
$1.25
This is a rich and creamy mixture of black tea and premium spices like cinnamon, clove, and cardamom. You simply add it to water or milk.
The Tea Spot Loose Leaf Rooibos Tea & Tea Bags
$10.95
I think most Pumeli boxes will include tea which is very appropriate for relaxation. This calming herbal tea smells very good! It's blended with red rooibos, vanilla and almond bits that you can drink all day and the whole family can enjoy it too. It's gluten-free, sugar-free and the leaves can be re-infused twice!

Hand Carved Wooden Elephant Stamp
$19.95
Traditionally these blocks were used for printing on fabric and the craft of carving them has been passed down generation to generation. Today, these blocks can be used for decoration or for printing on fabric or paper. As each block is hand carved by an individual artist there is some variation in size, shape, color and texture.
Pumeli suggests spending a few mindful minutes studying the ornate design by keeping awareness of the texture and grain of the wood in your hands. Using touch is an easy way to get into a calm and relaxing state even for those new to meditation who might find it difficult to sit still. I think it's a beautiful piece of art and will find a special place to display it.

The October Pumeli box has a total value just over $73. This box completely impressed me and exceeded my expectations! It was a joy to unbox and will definitely put all these wonderful items to use. This is the kind of box that would also make an excellent gift, I know several people who would love to receive it!
