Monthly Skill Box Review – March 2014

Monthly Skill Box, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription service to help you learn a new skill every month. Their goal is to help you learn new skills while keeping you entertained.

"We have encountered lots of people that have some free time and are interested in learning a new skill. The problem is that before you even start you need to do the research on what is possible to learn in your free time, choose a topic, research the best methods to learn the specific topic, get the needed materials/tools/equipment and only then you can start. We are here to save you all this time. We will do the research and purchasing for you, and send you a box with everything you need to learn a new skill every month, delivered to your door. So you spend your time learning the new skill without any time waste."

Cost: $30 / month - free shipping to US & Canada, $10 everywhere else.

The project I was sent is match art and includes everything you need to build several match art projects.

Monthly Skill Box Review – March 2014

When I first received the package which comes in a standard white plastic envelope, I had no idea what it was. When I opened it I still had no clue what it was except I was looking at a very nice little wooden, bamboo style box. I thought maybe it was a gift from someone lol. It wasn’t until I opened the box and saw the project cards that I realized what and who it was from. I’ll say this, the packaging is adorable. I love the box.

Inside are all the supplies necessary to do the match art and the various project cards. You can tell this was put together with care. Bunches of matches wrapped in tissue and tied with string. I appreciate the effort and attention to detail! Match art looks like an interesting skill to learn with endless possibilities of what you can create. I’m going to put some time aside one day soon and attempt the small house project. Check out some of these other project ideas. That huge house looks like it would take years to complete. Wow, that's pretty impressive!
