I’ve been wanting to try this box since it first came out, but waited until I had seen some reviews to have a better idea of what to expect from this box. Although Lip Monthly has had mixed reviews, I thought it was time to see for myself.

So, from what I’ve heard, the box itself is small and usually not all the items fit in the box. Mine came in a bubble mailer with the box inside. Ok, it’s cute, but the box is tiny (5" x almost 2.75") and only 2 out of the 5 items fit in it! I’m not kidding, I was laughing so hard at how small this box is! I don’t get why they’re using such a small box, it makes no sense!
Appeal Cosmetics Lipstick (Red Light District)
$22
Now this is red! If I had to pick a favourite lip colour, red would be it! I’m the type that doesn’t shy away from it. While I don’t wear it everyday, it’s a colour I go for if I want to feel a bit more glamorous.

City Color Lip Balm (Mauve)
$2.99
Now this is a much more everyday colour. A soft mauve, with a bit of shimmer. I do like it, but have too many in similar shades, so this will go up on my sell/swap board if anyone’s interested.

City Color Lip Lush Luscious Lip Crayon (Mahogany)
$2.99
Admittedly, I wore dark brown lipstick in my teens. I was obsessed with finding the darkest brown available. I’m not into brown anymore, so this will also be on the sell/swap board.

Stila Lip Glaze Stick (Orange)
I believe this is a discontinued product since I can’t find any recent prices for it. I love Stila, but at first was like,”Ew, orange!”, but after seeing pictures of others wearing it, it goes on fairly sheer and isn’t as intense as I thought it would be. I am bothered that there was no seal on this though.

John Frieda Collection Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème
$1.80 / 1.5 oz
Oh, a hair product! I wasn’t sure if Lip Monthly was going to include other products besides lip ones, so I’m happy to see that they do! I already use another product from John Frieda on my hair and think it’s one of the better and affordable brands out there for controlling frizz.

Well, I’m satisfied with my first Lip Monthly. It’s pretty much what I expected and I like the variety in colours. I think if you’re looking for a new beauty box to try that's affordable, go with this one. The coupon codes are great too! Getting a box for only $7, it’s definitely worth a shot!
