Julep Maven – July Review

image
So why did I subscribe to Julep this month? It’s not my fault! I blame it on my “baby brain”. You moms out there know what I’m talking about. Seriously does it ever go away?! Will I ever get my normal state of mind back? I can’t remember anything and my short term memory is...uh what was I saying?

Oh yeah, so here’s what happened. I subscribed two months ago to try out Julep for the first time, then I skipped a month. Near the end of June I received a shipping notification that my order was on its way. I was like whoa hold up I didn’t order anything. Then realized that because I didn’t do anything with my account it automatically sends me my box for the following month. Whoops! Oh well I said, it’s on the way so there’s nothing I can do now. I wasn’t pissed about it or anything, it just reminded again that I need to stay on top of all my subscription boxes.

Julep’s theme this month was The California Coast Collection. I received the Bombshell Box.

This was what was included in the box:

Nail Polish - Joanna

A lilac frost colour.

Nail Polish - Blakely

Purple and green molten colour

Honestly I am not crazy about these colours. The Joanna is similar to something I already have and the Blakely while it is a different colour, I’m not really feeling it. So the nail polish was disappointing for me.

Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil

image

A blend of lightweight yet nourishing oils that moisturize, condition, and restore elasticity and suppleness to the body. Absorbs instantly and leaves a satin finish without a greasy residue. Treatment mist contains a blend of cotton seed oil, rich in cell nourishing vitamin E, and sunflower oil - for deep conditioning and softening of even the driest skin. No parabens and sulfate-free.

I’m happy I got this! It says that it has a breezy citrus fragrance. I don’t detect much citrus, but it is very light scent which I like. I would say to go easy with the application. I sprayed some on after a shower, not too much and found it to be just enough.

Green Tea Facial Blotting Papers

Perfect for midday touch-ups, these natural linen blotting papers absorb oil and shine removing makeup.

I always use these - having these on hand is great! Who likes walking around with a shiny forehead?!

I’m not going to “accidentally” subscribe again, I made sure to cancel my account. Nothing wrong with this subscription, just not my thing. Does anyone else find their nail polish to be a tad expensive though? Which box did you get this month? Interested in giving Julep a try? You can get your first box free using the code: FREEMAVEN. You'll still have to pay for shipping which is only a few bucks.
