ipsy Glam Bag Review – January 2017

You know a subscription box is doing something right if it can keep subscribers for years. I've been with ipsy for a few years now and it's crazy that I still get excited when it arrives in the mail, whether I've peeked at spoilers or not.

ipsy is a beauty subscription box that includes 4-5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on individual style, beauty habits, colouring and preferences in a cool, new glam bag each month. Glam Bags are customized using a personalization tool called ipsyMatch. This sophisticated system pulls the results from your beauty profile and product reviews to help us create a Glam Bag filled with the best products for you.

Cost: $10/month (USD)

Shipping: US – Free, Canada – $4.95

January's makeup bag is a silver stunner inspired by skyscrapers.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Blush (Paradise)
$19

Ok, I've gotten this blush a few times from various boxes recently, so I'm not exactly thrilled to get another. Nice blush though in a pretty shade that's universally flattering.

Crown Brush C405 Contour Blush Brush
$7.49

This makeup brush is designed to fit precisely into the hollows of the cheek, creating a seamlessly blended contour. Thanks to its angled cut, the brush flows with the high points of the face, making it a suitable blush and bronzer brush as well. The brush is incredibly soft, made with natural goat hair fibers and it has an indent on the handle making it comfortable in your hands.

Jelly Pong Pong Coffee + Coconut Lip Scrub
$19

This first thing I noticed was the print on the lid had somehow come off. It was wrapped in plastic so it could've happened in production. Not a big deal though. This lip scrub smells like a cup of coffee and piña colada - yum! It's formulated with pure golden sugar, jojoba and rosehip oil. It will gently remove dry, chapped skin, leaving your lips silky.

TEMPTU Base Smooth & Matte Primer

I love these kinds of primers. The perfect canvas formula creates a poreless matte finish, diffuses imperfections and combats shine - without the heavy, greasy feel traditionally associated with face primers.

theBalm Cosmetics Bahama Mama

This matte bronzer gives you the look of beautifully tanned skin without any orange undertones for a fresh-off-the-beach glow. And since it’s matte, you can also use it to contour, as shadow, or to fill in brows.

ipsy Glam Bag Review – January 2017

My January ipsy Glam Bag had a great selection of products. These are all products I use, except the blush (at no fault of ipsy's) is a repeat product for me, but I'm happy that a few are full size and the value is great.
