I’ve been really interested in Homegrown Collective and was considering subscribing, when recently Homegrown Collective reached out to me to ask me if I’d be interested in reviewing their box. Of course I said yes and eagerly awaited for my Greenbox to arrive.
With Homegrown Collective you can expect to receive seasonally appropriate, professionally curated products that deliver the satisfaction of living a more self-sufficient & sustainable lifestyle to your doorstep each month. I’ve seen some of their other boxes and think it is a brilliant concept! The projects look fun and you get to make and try natural products you may have never used before.
July’s Greenbox was “The Beauty of Coconut”. The box included all the items needed to make Homemade Coconut Milk, Coconut Orange Sugar Scrub, Citrus Coconut Lip Balm and a Coconut Oil Lotion Bar. Coconut is in fact a nutritious superfood that is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. It's incredibly healthy, nourishing and versatile. Coconut is rich in antioxidants, which help to slow down the aging process and protect the body from free-radical damage. They help to nourish the skin and prevent/treat skin conditions, as well as help to boost metabolism.
Homemade Coconut Milk
I didn’t attempt to make this because I knew I wouldn’t drink it or use it for anything.
Coconut Orange Sugar Scrub
This was easy to make just mix melted coconut oil, sugar and essential oil. That’s it! Just a few simple ingredients and you have an amazing scrub!
Citrus Coconut Lip Balm
I was excited to make this since I love lip balm, but I was a little apprehensive because it involved more steps and having to measure out some of the ingredients was a bit of a challenge for me. I think it turned out pretty good though.
Coconut Oil Lotion Bar
This was also easy enough to complete, but I failed terribly. In trying to melt the ingredients I had an accident and it all spilled in the pot and was ruined. So no final product shot for this one.
I think Homegrown Collective is a totally unique subscription box. It was fun learning how to make these products and I love anything that is eco-friendly. You should definitely check them out if you are interested in a more eco-conscious way of living. What do you think of this subscription box? Have you subscribed? They have different pricing points for US and Canadian subscribers.
