Tasty Texas Classic BBQ Sauce
$4.95
A classic full favoured zesty sauce is the perfect compliment for enhancing the great taste of any rotisserie, broiled, grilled, barbecued or smoked meats. This sauce is traditionally used as a side sauce, put it on the table and let the diner decide how much to use. However for irresistible juicy BBQ, slather the delicious flavour onto your favourite cuts of meat as a marinade during grilling or a rack of ribs for that perfect mouth-watering rich glazed finish.

Bubba’s Bar-B-Q Pork Rub
$5.95
Created by an award-winning BBQ cook who has spent a lot of time in the pit. This vibrant blend of spices gives meat a sensational flavour and finish with a dash of sweet to perk up the taste buds.

Talk Texan Bar-B-Q Spicy Honey Rub
$9.50
Selling a rub line started with a dare for Talk Texan. “If you place with your rub you should sell it!”. A little while later the catering business now has its own line of rubs. The spicy honey rub is the most popular using Texas Pecan and Honey Chipotle.

Meat Mitch Rub
$6.99
An unbelievable blend of spices that have been married together to accentuate the taste of anything from hog jowl to the money muscle. It has the perfect amount sweet, a dabble of heat, but doesn't lose that little hint of salt that throws you over the edge. Sweet Rub O Mine All Natural All Purpose Rub was listed on the product card and was not included in the box. Instead it was replaced by Meat Mitch Rub. This was fine with me because this was my favorite.

Dip Shit for Vegetables
$4.99
This company is known as Special Shit and can be found in 17 countries. They have a full line of products. They have created a unique taste in their Dip Shit for Vegetables and chips. Mix the envelope with eight ounces of sour cream and allow an hour to chill. Then dip your favourite veggies or even put it on a baked potato.

So, the first thing that struck me about Grill Masters Club is the price of the subscription. The price is very high and then you have to pay for shipping. For myself living in Canada, the cost of a subscription plus shipping is $50 to $60 USD (not to mention our exchange rate). The value of everything (with the exception of the BBQ sauce) was a little over $32. In my opinion, it’s not great on value. The second thing that I wasn’t happy about was out of 5 products, 3 were BBQ rubs. I took the time to try the rubs and sauce by getting a large pork tenderloin and cutting it up into four chunks and testing each item. A little BBQ taste test. Marinaded for 30 min. and then cooked the tenderloin on direct high heat for 8 min. and then indirect low heat for 30 min. The meat turned out very well. The Tasty Texas Classic BBQ Sauce was good. It was not spectacular as a marinade but to be fair it markets as a dipping sauce and as such, it was awesome. A thick and balanced sauce with a nice kick of heat that sits on the roof of your mouth. Meat Mitch Rub was my favourite. It seemed to me to be the most balanced and had just a hint of salt. Talk Texan was all around too salty for my taste. I did not enjoy this one at all. Bubba’s Rub was good but not great. When I opened the 12 oz spice jar, I found it had begun to take on moisture and had started to clump. This suggests that this bottle had been around for a while. I did not try any veggies with the dip. I’m sure it’s fine and certainly a time saver if you are having folks over for a party.
Overall, I am not impressed with this box. Not enough variety in the products and certainly not enough value, especially if you are paying for international shipping. In Canada (as I am sure there are in other countries) we have stores dedicated to selling hot sauces and BBQ sauces. It would be more economical to visit them once a month. Maybe I’m just not the pit master they are catering to.
