This month's themes are "Accent" and "Chef". This is the "Accent" box.
Each item comes along with a printed story about the artisan who made it.
Wood & Bone Box (India)
This beautiful wood and bone box is sustainably sourced and made with smoothed bone shards from animals that have died naturally, a process called cladding. I absolutely love the design and the smooth feel of the lid. Use it to store any small treasures, candy, photos, playing cards, etc...The box is 4" x 4".
Bone Coasters (India)
Wow, these coasters are gorgeous! Probably one of my favorite items ever from GlobeIn! The grey and white tones are neutral colours so they should go with most people's decor. These are also made the same way as the wood & bone box. The carving of horn and bone is not the only craft with a lengthy history in India. The wood of the coasters also stands atop a vast lineage of woodworking. In fact, archaeologists have found remains of carved wooden pieces in India dating back to the 3rd century.
Wood Hexagonal Tray (India)
This geometric shaped wooden tray is great to put your keys, phone, and/or wallet in while at home. Although woodworking was once taught in schools in India, these days the trade is primarily passed down through families and friends.
Tea Light Candle Holder (India)
The making of this candle holder was an intricate process. Ample skill is required to saw, file, and set all the tiny pieces into their exquisite final place.
I am in love with this month's GlobeIn “Accent” Artisan Box! They're all such beautiful pieces that you can use around your home and/or office. I love that this collection is a matching set too. Globein suggests placing the items in proximity, allowing their material and design to echo each other from across the room. I will do just that. You have until tomorrow to subscribe to receive either this box or the "Chef" box.
