January 2014 - Five Four Club Review

We were very impressed with the quality of the clothing when we got our first box last month. It was a satisfying to know that it wasn’t cheaply made clothes and that it's a great value. The only problem we encountered was the fit. Normally my man wears a size 36 for pants and is a large in shirts. That is what we got, but we found the pants to be too big and the pullover too small. Not the end of the world, because Five Four offers “free” exchanges, but you have to pay for shipping and that part we didn’t like. We received the exchange clothing not long ago and the clothing fits right.

Let’s check out what we received for January:

Rodeo Zip-Up Hoodie
$68

This is totally his style and he likes the colours! Unfortunately, we struck out again on sizing. It’s too tight. I am not even going to bother with an exchange, because it cost about half the subscription cost to send back, so yeah this sucks!

Moore Button Down Shirt
$60

His first reaction was, “It looks like pajamas.” He likes plaid shirts, but this is colour combo didn’t do it for him. It is very soft though, but how does it fit? It actually isn’t too bad, it just fits and looks pretty good on him. So that’s a bit of a relief.

My thoughts on this subscription are mixed. Customer service has been great. They get back to me fairly quickly and are accommodating. There’s no denying that the quality and style of the clothing is exceptional! However, my suggestion to anyone thinking of subscribing is to size up for shirts and to size down for pants. Mind you, the pants he received last month are relaxed fit, so with that in mind, I don’t know if all pants will fit looser. We left the shirt size at large and probably should’ve sized up. If it were free for exchanges, then I wouldn’t sweat the size issues, but it’s just too expensive. It’s too bad, because he loves the clothes and the subscription itself is a great price!

Do you subscribe to Five Four? If you do, please let me know if you had any issues with the sizes of the clothing and what you think of this subscription box.
