Birchbox Canada Review – December 2014

Well, here it is! The very first Canadian Birchbox! I'm sure this review is unexciting for US readers, but for us in Canada, this is pretty huge! Birchbox announced they had started shipping to Canada last month and for me, it was totally out of the blue. I had no idea that this was coming, but I think it's long overdue and it's a great subscription box that's affordable!

Each Birchbox will always include five personalized beauty samples from across categories (hair, makeup, skincare, body—you get the idea). Fill out your beauty profile right after you sign up, so your first box will be tailored to your preferences (i.e., hair type, skin tone, etc). You can shop your box on your profile page, get free shipping on that month's sampled brands, and review your products for points—you’ll earn 10 Birchbox Points for each submitted feedback form.

Cost: $10/month + $4.95 Shipping. Annual subscription – $100 + Shipping.

I really love the Canadian packaging! Woohoo, my hands have finally touched a real Birchbox haha! The inside of the box has a cool chevron pattern. On the info card it states that there is a special gift of $10 off at GAP, but there's no coupon code or anything, so I don't know if it's missing or what?

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle

A  leave-in mist that is about as versatile as they come. It conditions, shields from heat and sun damage, and–of course–detangles, among other things. Plus, it’s 100% vegan and suitable for all hair types.
I've never used this brand before and like products like this for my hair, so I'll use this for sure! It smells incredibly good too!

Harvey Prince Hello Body Cream

Infused with the best-selling Hello perfume, the light shea butter formula softens and smooths dry skin. Citrus extracts add a bright and zippy touch to the mood-boosting scent.
This also smells really good and does a great job moisturizing.

Benefit Cosmetics Lollitint

Yes! I love High Beam and have really wanted to try this one! It's a candy-orchid hued cheek and lip stain that's easy-to-blend, smudge-proof formula provides a pop of cheery colour that lasts all day.

Birchbox Canada Review – December 2014

I have to say I'm really impressed and love my first Birchbox! I honestly thought it'd just be ok, but I love all the products and thought they did a great job tailoring the box to my preferences! The samples aren't huge, but I'm fine with that only because I have way too many beauty products as it is. I also really like their points system and Birchbox has been great with keeping Canadian customers informed of some the delays they've encountered and even provided us with some points as compensation.
