Beaver Box Review – January 2015

When I heard about this new Canadian subscription box I was immediately excited! We have slim pickings when it comes to lifestyle boxes, so I couldn't wait to see the first box! The website is pretty basic, you won't find too much information. It would be nice to see a FAQ's section at least.

The info card is simple, no prices listings but the companies names and websites listed.

I love getting calendars, so I was already happy with seeing this in the box! Each month has a different image and there is a magnetic clip to hang it up of your fridge of office.

Herbal Infusions Moose Tracks Tea & Tea Infuser
$2.50 & $2?

This tea is from a Canadian company is carefully crafted in-house using organic coconut, fair trade coffee beans, organic almonds, hazelnut, chocolate, and a rich base of Sri Lankan black tea. Finally, a tea infuser! I always wish that when boxes send out loose tea that they either include tea bags or an infuser, so Yay! for Beaver Box for thinking to include one! I'm not sure what the value is of the infuser or where's it's from because I don't see it on the Herbal Infusions website.

PristineThirteen Soy Candle (Maple Cream)
$9.75

You need to smell this candle, it's amazingly delicious! It's one of the yummiest scented candles I've ever smelled! It has the sweet scent of maple syrup combined with warm and creamy vanilla.

Essie Nail Polish
$9

I'm not sure of the name of this colour and it looks like a label or tag was taken off, but I really like the colour and enjoy Essie products.

Plaid Blanket Scarf
$20?

Now this is a winter scarf! It's really big and very soft. It fits the theme of this box perfectly! Unfortunately, the brand is not listed on the info card, so I have no idea who makes it or what the value is, but I would easily pay at least $20 for it so I went with that price.

Beaver Box Review – January 2015

The debut Beaver Box has an estimated value of $52.25. I am really happy with the box and thought it was well-curated! It had a definite winter vibe and included products that will help you get through the cold. I like that most of the companies I could identify were Canadian (I know Essie isn't but..). I appreciate that Beaver Box really focused on making it a Canadian box, so I love that! I'm a little conflicted about the cost of the box though. You are getting a very good value, but when you compare it to other lifestyle boxes at the same price, I would like to see more luxury items in the box. Still a very good effort for their first box and I certainly can't wait to see the next one which will be out in April.
