Whimseybox Review – November 2013

Whimseybox Review – November 2013

My November Whimseybox is here. I had no idea what to expect this month, so I was excited to see this month’s project. When I opened it I was happy it was another craft I would enjoy.

Whimseybox is a craft subscription box. You will receive a new DIY craft project each month with the materials and instructions necessary. Follow their tips and techniques or make it your own way.

Cost: $15 / month + free shipping in U.S. or $5 shipping to Canada.

* Get $5 off your first box using my link.

November’s project is Inkodye Furoshiki Wrap. Whimseybox suggests swapping wrapping paper for your gifts this holiday for a custom Furoshiki, reusable and eco-friendly fabric alternative. I love this idea and this project that looks like fun!

Materials:

1 - 4 oz. bottle of Inko Dye
1 - 30x30 100% Cotton Heavy Weight Flour Sack Towel
1 - package of star sequins (50/pkg)
1 - pair of gloves

I still have not had a chance to complete this project, but I’ll update the post when I get it done. I wanted you all to see what was included in the box and how beautifully packaged Whimseybox is every month. The projects the last few months have been a lot of fun for me and this is another good one!

UPDATE: I finally had a chance over the weekend to complete November and December's Whimseybox. I was worried that this project wouldn't get completed until the spring, because of the daylight during winter, but Alicia from Whimseybox reassured me that the dye would work on cloudy days. Luckily the day I did it the sun was out and when I put the wrap out in the sun, I could see the colour develop immediately. Here's my finished Inkodye Furoshiki Wrap. I'm happy with the results!
