Whimsy Mail & Putter Pails Review – September 2015

Whimsy Mail & Putter Pails Review – September 2015

Whimsy Mail and Putter Pails is a new Canadian subscription box just for tweens (ages 8-12). It was created by two best Friends since Grade 5 who've raised 6 children between them. They have always enjoyed shopping for unique, fun products and activities for their kids and when they got to the tween stage-it was often a struggle-with products being too young or too old. This is what inspired them to create Whimsy Mail and Putter Pails. They wanted children this age to have something of their very own. Each month is a new theme so that it is a brand new discovery every time!

We received both the Putter Pails box and the Whimsy Mail box. Both had just about the same items, so I'm just showing Putter Pails in detail and Whimsy Mail will be shown at the end of the review.

Scented Pencils & Erasers

These round erasers are totally fun and the boys thought the scented pencils were cool! They don't smell exactly like they're supposed to, but the Yummy Birthday Cake one was pretty close to real cake.

Natural Earth Paints, Paint Pots & Paint Brushes

Natural Earth Paint uses pure, natural earth and mineral pigments and organic ingredients to make completely safe, sustainable, and beautiful art supplies for children and fine artists. Earth pigments are clay and mineral earth prevalent in native soils all over the world. By leaving out the preservatives, heavy metal toxins, solvents, synthetics and fillers, their products are of the highest quality. We've never used paint quite like this, but love them! You just mix with water and you can refrigerate any leftovers (they're made with milk so don't keep it out for more than a few hours) and they stay good for about 4 - 7 days.

Whimsy Mail & Putter Pails Review – September 2015

I think Whimsy Mail and Putter Pails are both great boxes and a lot of fun for kids! I would've loved a box like this when I was a tween. The paints are awesome and the other accessories are so fun! I couldn't come up with a total value, but I'm guessing that the value is close to the cost of the box. So, not an incredible value, but it's a very well-done box and I really like the "Back to School" theme. This would be a really nice back to school gift for any tween!
