Whimseybox – March Review

Whimseybox - March Review

I received my first Whimseybox this week. I like trying a variety of subscription boxes and sometimes I go through crafty phases, so when I discovered Whimseybox I thought this would be a fun one to try. Whimseybox is the original subscription for DIY and craft lovers. Every month they ship subscribers a box with craft projects along with a project idea. They are also an online community where anyone can discover, learn and share the best in DIY and craft. Whimseybox costs $15/month (including shipping) and can be purchased as an automatically-renewing monthly subscription or a 3, 6 or 12 month term subscription.

This month was the Modern String Art Project.

I love the packaging! It comes in a beautiful box that can be reused for holding craft supplies or whatever you’d like. There’s even a little label holder on the outside of the box.

This project looks easy enough to do. You choose the pattern you want, place it on the board, hammer nails in wherever there's a dot and when all the nails are in place, tear away the pattern. Then you start wrapping! Using wire or string, start by securing it to one nail and then randomly wrap from nail to nail.

I’ll probably do it with my 3 year old. I'll do the hammering, he can do the wrapping. They included a few patterns to choose from. Since this will probably go in his room, I'll let him choose which pattern he wants to do.

So for it being my first Whimseybox, it's not bad. Looks like a fun project! Have any of  you subscribed? What did you think?
