Luxe Box Review – Spring 2014

Luxe Box Review – Spring 2014

Luxe Box, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a seasonal beauty subscription box and releases 4 boxes a year. Each box has 7-8 trial-sized beauty products delivered once every season.

Cost: $26 / season (quarter plan), $25 / season (semi-annual plan), $24 / season (annual plan). Ships to Canada only.

I also purchased the Natural Glow Limited Edition Luxe Box. You can read that review here. Since I got the upgrade box, I was still curious to see what would be in the regular Luxe Box, so I’m glad I got the opportunity to review it.

Love this box! Some of the best packaging!

First look inside the bag

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo & Conditioner
$5 / 2 oz (2x)

I’m happy that both the shampoo and conditioner were included. Getting one and not the other doesn’t make much sense to me when receiving samples like this. Infused with olive oil, it will give your hair lustrous radiance and has a fresh floral garden scent.

Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow (Starstruck)
$14

This is an intense plum - a medium lilac with a frosted finish. A great accent colour or can be used as eyeliner which I am definitely going to use it as.

Burt’s Bees Brightening Dark Spot Corrector
2 samples

I don’t like that these are small samples. You can get multiple uses out of this, but I would expect to see a deluxe sample in a Luxe Box. I am interested to try it though.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion
$0.90 / 28 ml

Let me just say first that I like this lotion and it’s something my whole family uses. However, this is nothing new or exciting. I’m also surprised to see this product in a Luxe Box. I expect to see something...well, more “luxe”.

Condition Culture Knotties
$7.50 / 4

I’ve never been a fan of these hair ties, but that’s just me. So, if you like them and got them in your Luxe Box, you’d be a happy camper.

Teeez Chain of Stones Nail Lacquer (More Than Mauve)
10.95£

I love Teeez’s packaging, very fun! This lacquer has high gloss finish and is free of the harmful effects of Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene and Formaldehyde.

Luxe Box Review – Spring 2014

As I mentioned in my other Luxe Box post, I want to know what you all think of this box. This box is a decent value, but a few of the products just aren’t my personal preference and I’m not seeing anything that’s too exciting or innovative. Not that Luxe Box promises that, but with a seasonal box you’d think the want to showcase some new brands or products (although I've never heard of Fekkai, so it may be a new brand?). So, let me know your thoughts.

Do you subscribe to Luxe Box? How did you like your Spring 2014 box?
