Julep Truth & Dare Mystery Box Review + Coupon Codes – July 2014

Yep, I did it! I got another Julep Mystery Box! What can I say? I got sucked it again! This one - the Julep Truth & Dare Mystery Box had several boxes to choose from and each box showed you one of the items that would be in the box. Each box promises a $100+ value.

I opted for the box with the Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat and got a free polish using a coupon code.

Cost: $24.99

Is it because I’m in Canada that Julep takes so looong to get here? It takes weeks and the tracking rarely gets updated. I don’t like that part, but when the box finally gets here, I can’t open it soon enough!

The first look didn’t have me too excited, I hope there’s more buried underneath.

Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat
$18

I decided to go with the box that had this product in it, because I’m really interested in trying Julep’s Oxygen Technology products. This will allow oxygen to permeate the nail bed, encouraging strong, healthy nail growth. Refines nail texture to hide ridges and imperfections. Help color last longer and prevents it from staining your nails. I’ve only used it once so far and definitely noticed a difference. My nail polish went on a lot smoother. I’m happy I got this product and will be using for all my manis.

Tada! Quick Dry Drops
$14

I actually already have a bottle of this. These drops will leave your manicure touchably smudge-free in just a few minutes. Those are the claims, but I’m still undecided on how much I like this product. For me it’s the drying time that prevents me from doing my nails as much I’d like to, so of course this would be a must-have product for me! I’d say it works well, but one night I did my nails at least a few hours before I went to bed, used the Tada! Drops and thought my nails were completely dry, The next morning I had sheet marks on my nails. That was the only time I found this product didn’t work for me.

Wow, I’m not feeling some of these colours. These all look like Fall colours, except maybe Char (I do love it though) and Winter. I picked up Winter as my free polish. It may seem like kind of a blah colour, but I recently wore a colour similar to this for the first time and loved it, so I had to get this one! I don’t mind the darker shade polishes, but Brielle and Hannah are not for me, so I’ll be putting them up on my sell/swap board. Overall I’m semi-satisfied with my Julep Mystery Box, but I think I need to chill with the Mystery Boxes for a while.
