Birchbox Canada Review – March 2015

First Look

Birchbox not only ships to the US and Canada, but also France, Spain and the UK. Birchbox Canada isn’t the same as the US Birchbox. We don’t get all the perks that they do, not yet anyways, but so far I am really liking Birchbox and the rewards points system is very good.

beautyblender + blendercleanser solid
$35

I could not be more thrilled to see this in my box! I absolutely love beautyblender and think it's a must-have beauty tool! It will give you a flawless makeup application, but it's great for so many other things! Some tricks I've learned are you can also use it to apply powder and blushes (powder or cream). I use the bottom of the blender for that. You always want to make sure you use a damp sponge. Get it very wet (it should expand to twice its size), then squeeze out all the excess water. When applying makeup make sure to use dabbing, bouncing motion (very important!). I also love that they included the blendercleanser solid. I've wanted to use it to clean my sponge and now I can!

Fekkai PrX Reparatives Conditioner
$7/2 oz

The PrX formula works at a structural level to maintain hair’s natural keratin. And it deeply conditions with the help of silk proteins to protect against future styling and environmental damage.

Usually I prefer to receive both shampoo and conditioner in a box, but if I only get one and not the other than I'd rather have conditioner, so I'm fine with this.

Temple Spa Peace Be Still Calming Face & Body Balm
$6/25 ml

This is a new brand to me and I really like it! It's absorbs very fast and isn't greasy at all. I used it on my hands and it made them feel very soft and silky.

theBalm Cosmetics Read My Lips Lip Gloss (BAM!)
$4.40/ 0.08 oz

I like theBalm Cosmetics, but don't think I've ever used any of their lip products, so again this is something I'm happy to receive. BAM! is a rosy pink and think it's a great colour for me! It's soft, natural, and isn't sticky.

Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum
Sample

I'm not happy to get a perfume sample, but with Birchbox you'll get perfume a few times a year. This scent is a huge turn-off. The rest of the box is great, so I can easily disregard this product.

Birchbox Canada Review – March 2015

March's Birchbox has a total value of $52.40. This box is by far my favourite Birchbox to date and the value is amazing! To get a beautyblender in Birchbox made my want to continue my subscription for longer just see if they're going to include more awesome products like this! Birchbox is one of the most affordable beauty boxes out there and one thing that makes this box more appealing for Canadians is that we're charged in CDN dollars, not US dollars. With boxes like ipsy, it's the same price for the box and shipping, but they charge you in US dollars which brings the cost up to almost $20 per month. Just something to keep in mind if you're thinking about subscribing to either one.
