Birchbox Canada Review – December 2015

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box that sends a curated box of 5 beauty, grooming, and/or lifestyle samples. Fill out your beauty profile after you sign up, so your first box will be tailored to your preferences (i.e., hair type, skin tone, etc). You can shop your box on your profile page, get free shipping on that month’s sampled brands, and review your products for points—you’ll earn 10 Birchbox Points for each submitted feedback form.

Cost: $10/month (CDN) + $4.95 Shipping. Annual subscription – $100 + Shipping.

I just realized that the $10 gift card that was included in the box is only good for Birchbox.com, so it's useless to Canadian subscribers. A bit annoying don't ya think?! I've emailed Birchbox about it and am waiting for a response.

theBalm cosmetics Hot Mama Shadow & Blush All-in-One

A peachy pink powder, which has a subtle infusion of golden shimmer to give off a 3-D effect. It also works as a shadow and highlighter. I really like this brand and this is a pretty colour.

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

I've gotten this dry shampoo a few times in various boxes. I like it and it smells great! Unlike many other dry shampoos, which contain aluminum shavings, amika’s version includes natural rice starch instead. It’s even talc-free.

Obliphica Professional Seaberry Serum

This lightweight serum helps to treat and repair dry, damaged hair. Strands are left smooth and shiny without a heavy, greasy feel. Unfortunately, my leaked and I was left with about a third of the serum. Good enough for a couple of uses I think.

Coastal Scents styleEYES Palette

Theses colours are from the glamourEYES collection which has gorgeous, bold colours. Both are pretty colours and I like the shimmer, although I'm not sure if the green shade will be right for my eye colour.

Birchbox Canada Review – December 2015

This month's Birchbox is a nice box with products ranging in beauty, hair, and skincare. I think the samples are a bit on the small side, but that's Birchbox for you. Sometimes they do send full size products which is always nice. As I mentioned last month, Birchbox Canada now has box customization options and box add-ons that are shipped free of charge with your monthly box.
